12/27/2022 0 Comments Focusrite scarlett 2i2 used![]() Yamaha just released a 40 channel TF Rack version (not sure it works with Linux). 16 channels in really limiting if you have more than a few Synths. Many manufacturers have USB 16 channel expandable to 24 or 32 but only Win/Mac support. ![]() Though hope FR will release an 8/16 channel expandable to 24/32 with ADAT (like the Clarett) using USB 2.0/3,0 as waiting for TB or AVB may take many years or it may even never happen for Linux. In that case it will require to update a file (may need to clone fulup code and create a pull request) I like the 18i20 a lot and use it every day, Never had any issues., but now wish I had the 2nd gen for its low latency (if it works on Ubuntu) but worry if it does not work on Linux. See thread: viewtopic.php?f=6&t=11991&start=30įor 2nd Gen 18i20, the USB Device ID may have changed. You cannot change the sample rate and you will not see the channel volume metering as this seems something not supported in Linux (driver) Just added a OctroPre on ADAT but have not tested that one yet with Fulup's code. Can be used with guitar, keyboard, drums, vocals, whatever you choose. Will test this again (and on 16.10) A long outstanding issue to me is that the headhpone outputs in the ALSA driver are not labeled as such but are labeled output 3-4 or so.Send an email to ALSA dev list ( a year ago or so) with a suggestion to change those, did not happen. Record anything with this Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 Audio Interface. It could be me as no one else commented on that thread. ![]() As stated above, I have problems with the rev 1 18i20 on 16.04 Ubuntu. Definitely easier to use than ALSAMixer (but ALSA mixer works too if you know what knobs to change) but some argue a native Linux program would have been better. I worked with Fulup to make the 18i20 work, So yes, it works.
